When our grandparents washed their hair, they reached for neem leaves, amla, and reetha. Hair fall was rare. Scalps were healthy. Nobody needed a PhD in chemistry to read the ingredient label.

Then the 1990s happened. A wave of modernisation — and the promise of convenience — swept chemical-laden shampoos into every Indian household. We traded centuries of Ayurvedic wisdom for sulfates, parabens, and silicones. And slowly, quietly, our hair paid the price.

Sustainable Universe was founded to reverse that. Not with nostalgia — but with science. We took the same herbs our grandparents used, had them rigorously tested at NABL-certified labs, consulted doctors, got dermatologist approval, and built formulas that genuinely work.

We also chose to package our products in sustainable pouches — 95% less plastic than conventional haircare bottles, with a food-grade inner layer to prevent microplastic leaching. Because being gentle on your hair should mean being gentle on the planet too.
